Thursday Thoughts

……insights and words of wisdom from our Kenyan Children

I am 16 years old and am an orphan.  When my parents died we moved in with my aunt.  One day when we came home from school I found she had move to another place with her children and abandoned me.  I stopped going to school and got employed as a house maid.   But my boss treated me so badly.  When I escaped I was lucky to be taken to  Holly House and went back to school.

I like to listen to R&B music and read novels.  The last book I read was “Emma in Love”.   When I grow up I want to be a nurse and someday I want to be the best nurse ever on the earth.

I’m an orphan.  When my parents died I lived with my grandmother.  She died last year.  I did not have anyone else to take  care of me.  I remained alone  with my siblings  [2 sisters & 1 brother].  That is why we came to live at Holly House.   For now,  I am very glad and I really thank GOD for this and all of you for help taking care of me.

My favorite subject is English and I really don’t like Social Studies.  I would like to be a teacher when I grow up.

I have been living at Holly House for 2 years.  My mother died and my father became mad and violent.  One day he break to the point of trying to kill me.  Neighbors took me to the hospital and the director cam there and helped pay for my hospital bill and decided for my safety  I move into Holly House.  My father is still mad.  I have not seen him for the last 2 years.

I like studying  CRE & literature and I really don’t like  business.  I want to be a  journalist.  Someday I want to educate people about HIV.

Thursday Thoughts

……insights and words of wisdom from our Kenyan Children

I have been  living at Holly House for 4 years.  I moved into Holly House after my father died and my mom was and still is very sick.  She could not take care of me or my other siblings.  She went to the rural home when she as seriously sick and that is when the director agreed I could stay at Holly House.

I like to play tennis and listen to Blues and R&B music.   I like to ready fiction stories and the last book I read was “Tough Love”.  I like to study English and Literature and really don’t like math.

When I grow up I want to be an air hostess with  Kenya  Airways and take care of my siblings and help my family from poverty.

Twin Brothers In Need Of Sponsors

Eliud and his twin brother Paul are two of the children looking for sponsorship at Galilee Primary school. Eliud is in class 4a and is 13 years old. He loves playing football and someday wants to be a soldier.

Paul is in class 5c and on March 20th both boys turned 13 years old. He too loves playing football and someday wants to be a solider like his brother.

You can either choose to sponsor one boy at .42 cents per day or both brothers at just .84 cents per day. Less then $1 per day will give both of these boys the one thing that no one can take away from them, an education.

For more information email Holly at sponsorships@galileeschool.org
